Here are a few tips I have found to be the most successful in helping me keep a full calendar every month:
1. Have a Launch Party. Most people think this is silly and should just skip this step, but truly it is key to starting your business off on the right foot. I always host a launch party whenever a new catalog comes out, hostess special changes, new consultant/designer incentive come out, yearly anniversary, milestones, etc. I love having a chance to get my friends and family together. Plus, have them bring friends. It gives them a chance to win a prize just for bringing a friend. The more the merrier. If you want you can play games (Future blog post soon), offer prizes and incentives. Looking for tips on a hosting a successful Launch Party? Read this blog post: Steps to a Successful Launch Party.
2. Get catalogs {TOM'S} and your flyers out there. Make sure you have your information on any marketing piece you put out there. It is a great form of advertising for your business. I suggest putting them in a teacher’s lounge at your child’s school, employee lunchroom, doctor’s offices, walk around your neighborhood introducing your products especially around holidays such as Mother’s Day, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. I highly suggest offering your neighbors a discount off of their first purchase. These are the people who will give you referrals. Definitely get your spouse involved by having them bring some catalogs to work with them. My husband does this for me all of the time now.
3. Marketing your business. I am truly a big believer in making money before you put money out. You always have to put a little money out there to start. If an opportunity arises that will allow you to put an ad out for a low cost, DO IT! Some places I suggest trying: newspapers, kids yearbooks, your church bulletin board, dance class, hair salon, post office, karate class, Martial Arts Class or even your alumni newsletter. 4. Don't be afraid to host a party or event in an out of the box different place. They are FUN! Personally, I love do lunch time quick parties at an office. Go out to some local offices ask if you can do a short party during their lunch. I have found that those working in an office LOVE it. It breaks up their day and gives them a chance to socialize while shopping. The benefit of doing them during lunches is that you do not have to worry about attendance, they are already there working. Are you lacking events this month? Plan your own multi vendor event. Find some local Direct Sales ladies that you would love to host the event with. It gives you a chance to meet their customers, make new direct sales friends and host a vendor event. Win win if you ask me.
5. Wear your product, use your product, wear company branded clothing every where. You will be surprised how many people will ask about what you are wearing, using, etc.
I hope these steps help you in filling your calendar every month. Remember set yourself apart. Provide amazing customer service. It will have customers coming back, referring people to you and being loyal. Be consistent. The key to really taking your business to the next level is to do it daily. If something does not work, adjust it. You will find your groove.
