Congratulations on starting your new business! It is so much fun to build a business from the ground up. One of the first things you want to develop is your brand. You want something that everyone will remember. Marketing your brand/business is vital to your success. Without proper marketing you will not be able to grow a business.
I am excited to share with you steps to market your new Origami Owl
® business.

  • Create a FaceBook Fan page- Never underestimate the power or social media.
  • Post at least 2-3 times DAILY on your fan page and share onto your personal page. Share pictures of product from Origami Owl's® Facebook, My FaceBook page or other desingers pages. Share jokes, quotes, recipes, etc make it fun. Not every post should be about Origami Owl®.
  • Make sure to post during busy times-- Morning 9AM, Lunch time 12PM, Dinner time 56-PM, bedtime 8-10PM
  • Wear your products every where you go. You would be surprised how many people do not do this.
  • Make sure your picture is your profile picture not product. People want to know you. You want to build relationships with them.
  • Find local events and sales sites on Facebook in your area or area's that you are willing to travel to. This is a great way to find out about events that may not be advertised elsewhere. Post about hosting an Origami Owl® Jewelry Bar®, joining your team, ask the members if they know of events that are coming up.
  • Carry Catalogs, business cards, rack cards, flyers and other marketing material with you. You never know when you will meet your next hostess or team member.
  • Don't just market your business, market yourself. You want your customers to build a relationship with you. They want to get to know who they might be buying from.
  • Be consistent! Work your business every day by setting goals that are attainable. Posting about your business, sharing your business wherever you go.
  • Be passionate! Passionate not just about the product, but about your relationships. Passion sells.
  • Be committed. Never give up! As I always say, remember that Rome was not built in a day and neither will your Origami Owl® business. It takes time to build a successful business.
  • When posting on Pinterest, Twitter, FaceBook, Google+ and many other social media outlets make sure to link your posts back to facebook or your blog (if you have one). You want them to be able to communicate with you to build the relationships with them.

As you can tell building relationships is vital to the success of your business. Stay consistent, passionate and committed. You will see results if you put the work in. Treat this business like a business and it will pay like a business. Treat it like a hobby and it will pay like a hobby. When I started my Origami Owl® I was the only designer in a 600 mile radius all around me. I built my business for {FREE} I never paid to advertised my business any where. I posted several times a day on everything. Building a strong online presence is important. I have made so many incredible relationships with my customers. You don't have to be on every social media outlet that is out there. Pick the ones that work best for you and stick with them. I would love to answer any questions you may have. Email Me

Origami Owl® has announced they are partnering with Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe Program to be a force for good in the lives of abused and neglected children, and those who face any of bullying. Origami Owl® asked their designers what causes are near and dear to the hearts of each Independent Designer, and they learned that issues dealing with Children were the most important to all of us Independent Designers. So with that Bella, Chrissy and Robin took those works to hear and went in search of a national non-profit that not only serves children, but also shares their mission and values. In that search they descovered Childhelp

Click here to see Chrissy, Bella and Robin along with the founders of Childhelp, Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson, express their gratitude for this life changing partnership.

Like Origami Owl®, Childhelp grew from humble beginnings, and they’ve touched the lives of many. Since its creation in 1959, Childhelp has saved the lives of more than 9 million abused children.

Origami Owl® is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of the Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe abuse and bullying prevention and education program.

This national program will provide a curriculum in all schools across the United States to educate Pre K – 12th grade students.  These children will be given the necessary tools to help protect themselves and learn how to ask for help. While more information will be available in late July, people can immediately make a difference in the lives of abused and bullied children today, by purchasing our exclusive Bully Proof Shield and Silver Heart Hand Charms. Designed especially for Childhelp, 100% of O2’s profits from the sale of these two charms will go directly to the Speak Up Be Safe program.

We hope you will embrace our new partnership with Childhelp, because together we’ll be able to be an even bigger Force for Good!  We invite you to learn more about our inspiring partnership Between Origami Owl® and Childhelp by visiting here.

Tips on keeping your Origami Owl® business busy during slow times

Who is excited for Summer? I know I am! I love getting to sleep in, be outside in the sun, going on vacation and trips with my family. However, generally during Summer is the slowest time for any direct sales business. Which is why most companies do their conventions/conferences during the Summer. I know that I am excited for the 2nd Annual Origami Owl® convention in July. I thought I would put together some tips that will help keep your business alive and rockin' during any slow time in direct sales.

Tips to keep your business rockin' during slow times:
  • I suggest not book Jewelry Bars® on the weekends. I have found that bookings on the weekends generally never do as well as a booking during the week. Most people are off doing sports, vacations, BBQ's etc.
  • Always have catalogs, business cards and rack cards with you. You never know when you will meet someone who is in need of a teacher, graduation, birthday, anniversary, etc gift. Use the times you are sitting at a sporting event to make new friends and share the Origami Owl® love.
  • Offer to do quick Jewelry Bars® during lunches at offices in your area. The hostess and guests will appreciate you coming working around their business schedules to come do a Jewelry Bar® in the middle of the day.
  • If you do not have events on your calendar create your own. Maybe even ask another Direct Sales Rep in your area to host one with you. That way you can get more people to attend. Pick a public local business to host the event in. It creates awareness for that business, plus yours. They can also invite their friends and customers to attend.
  • Create urgency around the new products and Hostess Exclusive items that come out during the slow times of the year. Customers love things that are limited edition.
  • Use the slow months to take classes and work on personal development. This not only helps grow you as a leader, but it helps your business grow.
  • Call past hostesses- Share with them the new items that have come out since their Jewelry Bar®.
  • Post at least 2-3 times daily on your business fan page. Then share it on your personal page. Also, find local sites for your area that allows you to share your business and find events. There are always a lot of events during the slow months.

Your business is only as slow as you want it to be. I love working my Origami Owl® business full time. I enjoy getting to party while making money. I would love to answer any questions you may have. Email me.

Steps to a Successful Launch Party for your New Origami Owl® Business

One of the first things I tell new designers on our team is that hosting their own Launch Party is key to starting off your new business successful. Your kit should arrive in about 3-5 Business Days after you enroll as a designer. Once it arrives look through the whole kit. It sure is a LOT of fun!

Why I suggest hosting your own Jewelry Bar
®:
  • It introduces your new business to your friends and family
  • Helps you get your first bookings for your new business
  • You will sell some jewelry which will help you learn how to fill out the order forms, how to place a Jewelry Bar® order
  • You earn free product and product at half off to add to your table display. It is nice to be able to display a lot of different designs.
  • You can earn the Hostess Exclusive. This is a valuable business tool. Customers love seeing the Hostess Exclusive, then they want too book a Jewelry Bar®.

Steps to a successful launch Jewelry Bar
®:

1)     Relax! Have fun! You know mostly everyone attending. They are your friends and family. They want to see you succeed.

2)      Ask your Mentor is she is available to attend for moral support. This is also a great way to watch her in action. If she cannot attend see if she will be available by phone for questions in case you have any.

3)      Send out Invitations, Evites, or text messages for your Launch Party about 10 -12 days in advance.  Literally invite everyone you know –remember only 1 out of every 4 people invited will be able to show up –so over invite!

4)     Create a FaceBook event for your launch Jewelry Bar
®

5)      Follow-up with phone calls, text messages, Facebook and email reminders are a MUST!! You would be surprised how many people will forget. Life is busy. Plan to contact everyone 2-3 days before your event as a GENTLE reminder. Some people will ask you to contact them the day before or even the day of the event. Put those reminders in your phone or on your paper planner.

6)      Take a look at your Calendar for the next two - three months.  Mark the dates that you are busy with your family, doctor appointments, etc. You want to make sure you are first marking the important dates to you before you put the dates you can book Jewelry Bars®. Choose the dates that you can do Jewelry Bars® on. You can even do the chain and three dangles gift to get them booking their Jewelry Bar® with you. How the Chain and Three Dangles work: You wear a chain you love, put three exclusive Origami Owl® Dangles on the chain, Tell your guests that the first three people to book their Jewelry Bars® will get a chain to get the dangle of their choice for {FREE} at their Jewelry Bar®.

7)      Keep your food and beverages simple. You want your guests to focus on your introduction of your new business and the Jewelry.

8)     Set up your Jewelry Bar® Display-- Create a few different lockets for them to see. Have all of your designer business kit out. They will want to see and touch the product.

9)      Set up a check out area with your buy, host or join flyers, talking about each aspect of the business; a calculator (I use my iPad. Message me to find out what apps I recommend), a money collection bag or lock box (I use a divided wallet I bought), and your calendar.  Ask for referrals –who do your friends and family knows that would just love Origami Owl®?? Remember to have a sheet to collect their information for Catalog, Online or in home Jewelry Bars®, and your newsletter.  Your guests will probably have questions about what the difference between each party. Be sure you write down their dates in your planner with the time, location, the Hostesses name and phone number. Provide a Hostess Packet to them.

10)  Have drawing slips our for your guests. Do a free drawing for something like a free charm or dangle

Have Fun! If you have any questions please reach to your mentor to answer them. If I am your mentor I would love to answer any questions you have.

How to choose a mentor for your Origami Owl® business.

Choosing the right Origami Owl® mentor is honestly one of the most vital decisions you will make before you start your own Origami Owl® business. You may have talked to a friend, relative, or maybe even a stranger about Origami Owl® which started to get you to think about joining our team. Even though that person talked with you about joining does not necessary mean they are going to be the best fit for you. You are about to start a business. Making sure you have the best mentor possible is really going to help you start off on the right foot.

Let's start with the definition of a mentor.
men·tor noun \ˈmen-ˌtȯr, -tər\ : someone who teaches or gives help and advice to a less experienced and often younger person

My definition of a mentor is someone...
  • Who guides you through your business
  • Encourages you
  • Teaches you how to duplicate their process
  • Inspires you
  • Helps you develop into a better leader

I believe that choosing an Origami Owl® mentor should involve some research and questions.

Here are some questions that I find valuable when selecting a mentor.

1. Have you been in Direct Sales before? If so how long?

2. How long have you been a designer with Origami Owl®?

3. Are they successful?

4. Are you available for training and questions?

5. Do you know how to market your business such as jewelry bars®, events, fundraisers, online, social media, catalog parties?

Have you decided if a local mentor or non-local mentor is the best fit for you? If not visit Choosing a Local or Non-Local mentor. This blog post will really help you make a confident decision about the best fit for you. You need to make a decision that works best for you. Take some time to get to know the mentor either by phone, online or in person and ask yourself the following questions.

1. After talking to her does she inspire you?

2. Do you feel like you will get along well with her?

3. Was she truthful and honest with you?

4. Does she follow the Origami Owl® Mission Statement, Policy and Procedures and their standards?

5. Did she seem knowledgeable and familiar with Origami Owl®?

6. Did she answer all of your questions?

7. How successful has she been so far in her business?

8. Did she share with you why she joined Origami Owl
®?

9. Is she working her business? You want to have a mentor that works their business.

10.
Does she care about the success of her team?

Choosing your Origami Owl® mentor is a very important business decision. As I stated before, it is truly one of the most important decision that you make.  If you sign up with Origami Owl® without a mentor they will assign you a mentor. This mentor may not be the right mentor for you. I suggest picking your mentor before you sign up with Origami Owl®.

Now that you have made a confident decision about your mentor it is time to talk with her about the career plan. Understanding the career plan is important to building your business. You are going to want to share this incredible business with others! Origami Owl® has one of the most generous compensation plans in the industry!

To me mentoring my team is what I {LOVE} to do! I get so much joy out of seeing our team succeed and reach their dreams and goals. Learn about WHY I would {LOVE} to be your mentor.

I would love to chat with you! Please email me if you have any questions. I truly would {love} to talk with you more about the business. If you feel like I am the right fit as a mentor for you you can Join Here. Are you looking for someone local to you? Visit the Find a Designer feature. If there is not someone in your area and you would love to start your business from the ground floor email me today! I started my business in a small town from the ground floor. It has developed into an extremely successful business that I truly {love} I feel so blessed to be able to have this incredible business.
